OCC1 Opera Children Chorus

This popular program gives children and young adults, ages 7-18, the opportunity prepare and perform in concert and operatic works during a three-week residency at the Crested Butte Music Festival. Under the guidance of such distinguished artists as Keith Miller, Director of the Opera Program; and Linda Gelinas, dance captain and dancer for The Metropolitan Opera, students are immersed in the rigorous and rewarding life of an opera children's chorus, developing critical musical and personal skills they can use their entire lives.

Application and Video Audition Deadline: January 15, 2013

Dates 2013:  July 8 through July 28

Age groups: 7-12 and 13-18

Tuition: free

Application fee: $35 (non-refundable)

The program includes:
• Coaching by Maestro Stephen Sulich, Keith Miller and Allison Armerding
• Dance and movement classes with Linda Gelinas
• Participate in the Opera Young Artist opera production, directed by Joshua Borths
• Perform in concerts for children
