Crested Butte Music Festival Announces Bluegrass In Paradise Schedule
Bluegrass and Americana go hand-in-hand for June 30 – July 5

CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. (January 28, 2014) – Crested Butte Music Festival's annual Bluegrass In Paradise is being planned for June 30 – July 5 and promises to be an all-out celebration of Americana. The festival is partnering with the Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce and the towns of Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte to bring together several facets of Bluegrass In Paradise and the communities' Fourth of July activities.

Swallow Hill Bluegrass Kids Camp, June 30 – July 3
Back by popular demand, Denver's Swallow Hill Music School will lead a top-notch bluegrass music experience on June 30 - July 3 for kids ages 7 – 17. Participants are divided into appropriate age groups and learn a variety of traditional bluegrass instruments and vocals from instructors have extensive experience teaching and playing in bands. Camp is in session from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily, with a performance scheduled for the end of camp on July 3. Participants also are encouraged but not required to walk in Crested Butte's July 4 parade.

Space is limited to 60 students, and camp tuition is $270 per child. CBMF will provide $75 scholarships for the first 20 children who reside in Gunnison County and submit a completed application with payment.

Bluegrass Concerts, July 4 – 5
In keeping with tradition, a full morning and afternoon of non-stop patriotic events will be held in Crested Butte on July 4 and wrap up with a free evening bluegrass performance and fireworks in Mt. Crested Butte. Starting at 7:30 p.m., Yarn will take the stage joined by Drew Emmitt, who is hosting Bluegrass In Paradise for the fourth year in a row.

On July 5, the lawn of the ski area base will be transformed into a prime concert setting with award-winning Americana and bluegrass inspired bands playing from 1 – 9 p.m., including The Black Lillies, The Dave Mayfield Parade, Yarn, Shannon Whitworth, and Drew Emmitt & The Paradise All-Star Band. Tickets cost $35 and include the entire day. Kids ages 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult.

Ticket holders can camp for free in Mt. Crested Butte from July 3 – 7 and take part in a free bluegrass workshop for adults on the morning of July 5.
